What fun, I'm one!

Things have been a little busy around here with kids (and moms) getting sick, a rush of student papers and projects to grade, and then Easter.  But, I'm finally getting caught up and have time to post about Anna's first birthday (which was March 22).

I remember on Sam's first birthday thinking how grown up he seemed.  But, now with an almost four-year-old in the house, when Anna turned one she still seems like my little baby!  Granted, she has learned a lot lately.  She vigorously shakes her head "no" for the things she doesn't like (combing her hair, when Sam gets in her way, trying to get her to eat more when she is finished...), she is walking while holding onto furniture a bit, and she spends a countless amount of time "practicing" her words - including one that sounds just like, "hi"!

She is still our little "munchkin" though.  At her 1 year checkup she was only 17 pounds, which was below the zero percentile for weight.  Yet, she eats like a horse!  For example, for breakfast today she had a pumpkin muffin, half a banana and some strawberries.  For a morning snack she had an entire banana and crackers.  For lunch she had half a tortilla with cheese and guacamole and veggies.  And, when she wakes up from her nap she'll surely want another snack, then dinner an hour or two later.  If this keeps up at least she'll praise her high metabolism as a teenager!

She only wanted to eat the cookie on top of the cake, not the butterfly I spent so long decorating!

Aunt Laura got her a sun hat - we're all ready for our Arizona trip next month!

First bath in the big tub!

I couldn't resist - this one makes me laugh every time!

Anna loves playing "lion" and hiding in the "cage"

Nothing better than emptying the dishwasher...

...except if it is doing laundry!

This is what the kids look like when I leave Steve in charge

We broke down and did Easter eggs this year, much to the apparent delight of Sam!

Thanks for the Easter suit, Grandma Pat!  I wore it all day!

I promise I liked my Easter dress also, Grandma!

And, the perfect end to Easter (if you're Steve)...opening day of Red Sox baseball!

  1. Anna has gotten so big! I can't believe I haven't met her yet, that is crazy. It is also crazy that I haven't sent her present yet. But one of these days it will be a very merry unbirthday!
