What a great Christmas! Although Sam has had fun in past years, 3 1/2 is a great age for this holiday. And, I think he (we) may have even had more fun in the lead-up to Christmas. Every day we put a new piece on the Jesse Tree (thanks Karen, Mom and Dad!), lit the advent candles at dinner (adding one more each week) and ate a piece of candy from the advent calendar. And, checking the mailbox for cards every day was fantastic. This was the first year, in a long time, that I really had some genuine "Christmas Spirit". Steve was glad of this as he's accused me more than once in the past of being a bit of a Scrooge!
We had Steve's mom, dad and sister here over Christmas, and it was nice to have a full house. Then, we visited them up in Casper over New Years. Anna did much better sleeping there than she has in the past, so we might be able to begin taking more trips to see the grandparents.
Steve had his birthday last week. He's a little sensitive about his age, so I 'll make you work just a little to figure it out...he was born in 1976. He spent the day (and the weekend) in Riverton at fire school, which was a perfect gift for him!
And, my birthday is coming up this weekend. I have no qualms about my age...I'll be 33! And, what do I want for my birthday? Well, not a trip to fire school. Maybe if I could just sleep in a little bit on that day...or is that impossible in this house? :)
