Anna is 11 months old today - wow! I was looking back at some of the posts I made when I first started this blog last summer and she was just a few months old. She was definitely in the posts, but there really wasn't too much to report. How things have changed! Steve and I comment all the time recently how she is becoming "people". Like today we finished reading a book and she took it and handed it back to me. I asked her, "should I read it again?" and she jumped up and down and smiled! And, she eats enough to be a grade-schooler. Tonight she actually finished Sam's supper after he was full! All of this and she's still on the small side (for weight). We don't know how we'll afford to feed this family when they are in high school...
A few pictures from the past month or two are included here. The first one is on New Year's Eve. We all had a carpet picnic and watched a movie. Sam, Steve and I had popcorn and malts (a fun tradition from my childhood which Steve doesn't fully understand) and Anna got peas. I think her next New Year's Eve might be an improvement.
We had a couple of antelope munching plants in our yard for a few days. I'm glad we were able to help them out with their winter forage! We didn't get a picture, but a month or two ago Sam was looking out the window and in a very calm voice, like it happened every day, said, "Hey, there is a fox in our yard." So, we've had a little wild kingdom in our neighborhood this winter!
The picture of Sam on snowshoes is up at Karen and Greg's cabin. The whole family spent a weekend there in late January - and Sam asks all the time when the next trip will be!
Grandma Pat, Papa Tom and Aunt Mary spent last weekend at our house. Yea - someone else to read books to the kids!
The last picture is of Steve and the kids making ice cream. Santa was supposed to bring the ice-cream ball to the family as a present, but Sam discovered it in the closet a couple of weeks before Christmas. So, it became a present from Mom. I need to think carefully about hiding spots for presents before next year!
